Fabian Schilling
Fabian, being a real Patagon, is a man of many skills. Raised on a farm, as a young boy he learned the secrets of "el campo". At BaseCamp, he is in charge of maintaining the land and animals. Horses are his best friends, but sheep are terrified of him. The “last-night-of-the-week-asado-lamb” is carefully selected and “helped” by him and his ever-sharp knife.
To our pleasant surprise, Fabian also turned out to be a great carpenter. Much of the furniture in and around the lodge was made by him. Elena Sol, Caro and Marcel`s daughter, sleeps peacefully in a little bedstead from his hands. When you are here, have a look at the wooden gates he made…just fabulous artwork. All he needs is a chainsaw and a hammer to create truly amazing and functional artifacts.
During the season, you will get to know him differently, though, as he often leaves his notorious knife at home and serves as your driver, or will travel with you in the mornings to help your guide launch his raft. Fabian is always there when you need him.Back to
